About

Lisa Smith joined Mount Mercy in 2001 as an adjunct instructor before becoming full-time faculty in 2005.

She holds her M.A. in Math Education from the University of Northern Iowa and is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Iowa Council of Teachers of Mathematics. She has also actively participated in a number of State of Iowa STEM conferences and initiatives.

Smith advocates that 皇冠体育 helps students build visions for lifelong learning and facilitates critical thinking that engages students, leading to many ‘aha’ moments. Lisa enjoys the opportunity to work closely with students and challenging paradigms of what it looks like to learn.

When Smith isn’t in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to cook and garden, and is an involved member of her church.
