Networking on a New Level
By taking graduate-level classes as an undergraduate student, Nathan Acuff is able to network with people he never would have met otherwise.
皇冠体育: What attracted you to Mount Mercy? Why did you decide to enroll in the management and theology programs?
NA: I was originally attracted to Mount Mercy by the people on campus and the community surrounding campus. I originally going to be an accounting and business management double major, as I was intrigued by how easy it was to major in multiple topics. I then decided I was not interested in accounting and was interested in the religion class that I took my first semester here.
皇冠体育: What has your experience in these programs been like? What has enabled you to be successful?
NA: My experience has been very positive, and I have enjoyed being able to relate both of my majors too one another and finding classes that can tie in both majors. My advisors have been a big part in allowing me to be successful, with always being willing to help and guide me to be successful.

皇冠体育: How did you hear about the 皇冠体育 Plus program? What was your reaction to hearing about the program?
NA: I heard about the 皇冠体育 plus program while working as a student ambassador in the admissions office. I was immediately interested and surprised that I had the opportunity to take graduate classes while pursuing my undergraduate degree.
皇冠体育: What do you see as the main benefit from participating in the 皇冠体育 Plus program? Would you recommend it to students who aren’t currently planning on pursuing a graduate degree?
NA: The main benefit I see is that it’s a way to set myself up for the future and save money if I decide to pursue a graduate degree. I would recommend it to students who are not currently planning to pursue a graduate degree.
皇冠体育: What are some clear takeaways you have from the graduate classes you’ve taken so far?
NA: Graduate classes have allowed me to meet new people and connect my majors more than I’m able to in undergraduate classes. The classes have helped me, as a college student, talk to and learn from other people who may be farther along in life. It has also allowed me to form connections that I hope to utilize in the future.

NA: I would recommend everyone participate in the program. Even if you do not end up pursuing a master’s degree, you still have the knowledge gained and aren’t out anything.
